If you are eager to update your Samsung Galaxy S6 with the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0, then we have some good news for you. Yes, the official update is out and now you can enjoy the great Marshmallow features on your S6 and S6 edge. Recently Samsung has launched a public Beta program for their UK users through which you can update your Samsung S6 or S6 edge with the latest version of Android. But, is that going to stop users from all over the world from flashing their devices with the latest UI? Not likely. One can sign up for this Beta program from any part of the world. However, you’ll have to flash the UK specific firmware to get the updates. How? Read on to find out.
Make sure you are having a Samsung S6 or S6 Edge model. As this update is particularly designed for S6 and S6 edge, it may harm other devices. Be sure, check the model number.
Make sure your phone has at least 80% battery life.
Download Odin V3.10.7 if you are using a non-UK device. You can download the files here.
Make sure to back up all the data, files and folders in your phone before you start updating.
Once you have downloaded all the required files and folders, you can start the step by step download now. However, update your device at your own risk. Make sure you are familiar with the restoring process; in case anything goes wrong you can restore your previous UI.
Step 1: This update is for SM-G920F and SM-G925F model numbers. So, first check out your phones model number to confirm that you are using one this devices. Also go to the Settings option and then the Device Menu to make sure that you are an Unlocked version of your phone.
Step 2: Go to Google Play Store and download the SamMobile Device Info application. Through this app you’ll be able to check whether your present firmware contain a BTU product number. To check this, open the app and go to the Firmware option. BTU should be mentioned after the product code here.
Step 3: If you have a BTU product code, then you’ll have to download the Galaxy Care App from the Galaxy App Store. Otherwise you can also download the APK file on and transfer it to your phone and install the app manually.
Step 4: Once installed, go to the Galaxy Care app. You may be asked to agree to the terms and conditions; click yes and process to the main page.
Step 5: On the top of the screen, you’ll find a lot of tabs and options. Continue to swipe till you get the ‘Participate Galaxy Beta Program’ option. Once you get it click on it the register tab.
Step 6: Once you click on register, and agree to the terms and conditions you’ll get the download option for Android 6.0 beta version. Just follow the instructions and you are done!
For non-UK users
In case you are a non-UK user, but still want to participate in the Beta program then you’ll have to flash your device with BTU firmware first.
