How To Easily Fix “This Web Page Is Not Available

The ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT error in Chrome Browser is one of the most common errors that can pop up while using the browser. This error is accompanied by another message, that is, ‘This webpage is not available.’ The error occurs when the server which you are trying to access takes too much of time to reply the data request. Simply, your computer is unable to access the internet, or maybe it is blocked by something from establishing a healthy connection.  However, this error can be easily fixed if you follow the simple methods which will be written in the article, below.

  1. Change the LAN settings-

Open Chrome>Settings>Advanced Settings>Change Proxy Settings. Then go to ‘LAN Settings’ and deselect the ‘Use a Proxy Server for the connection,’ press OK and close the tab. Checking Proxy settings resolves the issue.

  1. Flush the DNS by Command Prompt or CMD-

Open Start Menu and go to the Command Prompt. After the pop-up shows, type the following command “ipconfig/flushdns” and press Enter. Wait a few minutes for the process to complete, and when it’s done, your DNS will be flushed.

  1. Fix by Installing the Required Certificates-

Open Start Menu>Internet Explorer browser>click on Internet Options>click on Content. Then go to the ‘Certificate’ option, click on ‘Intermediate Certificate Authorities’ and click on ‘Import’ to install the required certificate file. Click Apply and select OK. Restart your computer once, and you’re done.

  1. Delete the URL in Hosts File-

Open Notepad and go to File>Open. A popup will appear, open this destination in the box MyComputer>Local Disk C:>Windows>System32>drivers. Then click on file type in the bottom right, select ‘All Files’ and open the Hosts file.

There, if you see a Facebook URL that is not opening, delete that line and save the hosts file and restart your PC.

  1. Clear Caches and Cookies from your Browser-

Open Google Chrome>Menu>History. Click on ‘Clear Browsing Data’ option, check the Cache and Cookies and also empty the cache and click ‘Clear Browsing Data.’ Wait for a few minutes, and it will clear all caches and cookies.

  1. Disable or Turn OFF Firewall settings-

Open Start Menu>Control Panel>Windows Firewall>c

lick on ‘Turn Windows Firewall on or off.’ Then tick on the ‘Turn off Windows Firewall’ option, click OK and your Firewall will be disabled.

  1. Reset Internet Browser Settings-

Open your browser>Settings>Show Advanced Settings. Find and click ‘Reset Browser Settings.’ This action will reset your browser settings to the default ones.

  1. Reset or Restart the Modem or Router-

This can be done very easily. Click the reset button on your Router (which may vary according to the device). Doing this fixes any issued related to it.

  1. Run your Windows Antivirus to check Malware or Virus errors-

Open Start Menu>Microsoft Security Essentials. There, click on ‘Full’ to run a full system check for viruses and click on ‘Scan Now.’ Wait for a few minutes, and it will be done. If there’s any threat, it will resolve it.

WINDOWS TROUBLESHOOTING: FIX THE ISSUE ALL BY YOURSELF

  1. Assign DNS Address manually-

Open Start Menu>Control Panel>Open Network and Sharing Center. There, go to Properties and click on ‘Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)’. Click on its Properties and tick ‘Use following DNS Server addresses’ and change ‘Preferred’ and ‘Alternative DNS Server’ like this- Preferred DNS Server- 8.8.8.8, Alternative DNS Server- 8.8.4.4 and tick ‘Validate settings upon exit’ and click Save. It will take a few seconds.

  1. Reset TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol)-

Open Start Menu>open Command Prompt>type “nets hint tcp reset resettcpip.txt” and press Enter.

  1. Reinstall Network Adapter-

Open Start Menu>Run>type “hdwwiz.cpl”. Then expand Network Adapters, locate yours, and right click on it. Choose and click Uninstall. Reboot your PC once. After the reboot, try reconnecting to the network. If it isn’t installed, download it from the manufacturer website and install it.

These are the simple but effective way of quickly solving this error.
